it's been awhile since i updated, i've not had much of a mood to update all this while, and it's been nice reading other people's blogs, inane ramblings, whining, cussing, and so forth. it's been a hectic few weeks at work for me, with exam after exam, but well, i'm glad to say all my exams are over, i've only not gotten the results back for one exam, but i should be able to pass that one, so i've sort of passed my course already.

the following weeks at work will have a shift in focus to practical training, in the simulator, at the aerodrome itself, and followed by a pre-course attachment when my course ends in may.

the main issue now is with the aerodrome i'll eventually be trained for. the administration/management hasn't decided for sure where my batch would be going, i.e. changi or seletar, and if we end up like two batches ago, having attachment at changi and ended up training for seletar during the aerodrome course... they shouldn't use the current batch to allieviate their manpower requirements, but a big problem still lies with the pay issue, because honestly, a lot of other sectors are paying much better than atc does... and it's about time management did something about it... just comparing home affairs ministry, teaching, it's quite evident that we're quite an underpaid bunch...

my other gripe which has been affecting me these few weeks is the weather, which hasn't been conducive for skating at all... going down to ecp, i just keep perspiring from the really bad humidity... and then, the nparks rangers have finally stepped up action against skaters who are engaging in prohibited activities at the rink near skatesports. the only problem is that they aren't stopping people from teaching there, skatesports (who's boss barry was the one rumoured to have encouraged nparks to put up the sign board) and other schools still teach there, non beginners still skate there, people still do figure skating there, freestyle... and the only people they're stopping, are slalomers... which pisses me off a great deal... i'd not be so pissed if they stopped everyone completely, and not just slalomers...

if only there were more competent people running skate schools, less politics, better resources and venues for all disciplines of skaters...

wishful thinking.. as usual.
