once in a while i get the opportunity to speak to some of my senior colleagues, and the negativity they project is somewhat disturbing. there is a lot of resentment in the job, and due to contractual obligations, these people are unhappy with their work, their workload, the lack of adequate financial renumeration for a perceived higher workload as compared to other streams of controllers... and it does show.

overly concerned with impressions, it shows how the stresses at work have caused some of them to fall over the edge, and border on being crazy. but it's a good way to deal with the stress.. someone once said you have to be crazy to survive in this job

but it's the same in every workplace, the impression you give people will determine how they respond and work with you, how much cooperation they want to give you, how much knowledge they want to share with you.

there is a need for an overhaul of the way people deal with impressions, and also some consideration of how to deal with the unhappiness caused by the way the job is organized....

if things don't pick up, it is indeed a slow poison that will eat away at even the most enthusiastic, and in the end will just cause the system to crumble on it's very foundations that are already shaken
